Career Highlights

2007 – Crossed the $1 million mark in career earnings. Won the average title at the 2007 Wrangler NFR with a total of 846 points on 10 head and set a new Wrangler NFR average record. He won three rounds en route to the title (fifth round - 89.5, ninth round 86 points and 10th round 91.5) and placed in four additional rounds. Finished second in the world with a total of $190,632 after picking up $116,214 in Las Vegas. Broke his leg in April at the Grand National Rodeo in San Francisco. Returned to the rodeo arena the end of June. Won the Lea County Fair and Rodeo (Lovington, N.M.), the Dodge City (Kan.) Round Up, and the San Antonio (Texas) Stock Show and Rodeo; was co-champion at the Snake River Stampede (Nampa, Idaho) and at the Arcadia (Fla.). All-Florida Championship Rodeo.

2006 – Won his third world title in record fashion setting a single-season earnings record in bareback riding with $280,227, set and NFR earnings record with $128,302, and won the average title with a total score of 821.5 points on 10 head. Placed in nine out of 10 rounds, winning the third round with a score of 85 points, the fourth round with an 84.5 and tied for the win in the fifth round with an 87. Finished the year as the regular-season leader with $151,924 setting a new earnings record prior to the Wrangler NFR in bareback riding. Won the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Championship (Dallas), his sixth Tour title; won the average title at the Pendleton (Ore.) Round-Up, the Reno (Nev.) Rodeo, the Old Fort Days Rodeo (Fort Smith, Ark.), the Payson (Ariz.) Spring Rodeo and the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo (Denver); tied for the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round win en route to the average title at the Caldwell (Idaho) Night Rodeo; was co-champion at the Snake River Stampede (Nampa, Idaho) and at the Gladewater (Texas) Round-Up Rodeo; won the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round at the Laughlin (Nev.) River Stampede.

2005 – Won his second world title with $185,486 in earnings. Placed in six out of 10 rounds at the Wrangler NFR en route to his world title; won the Pace Picante ProRodeo Challenge (Omaha, Neb.), making him the first contestant in PRCA history to win five Pace Series titles; won the Magic Valley Stampede (Filer, Idaho), the Norco (Calif.) Mounted Posse Rodeo, the Farm-City Pro Rodeo (Hermiston, Ore.), the That Famous Preston (Idaho) Night Rodeo, the Heart of North Rodeo (Spooner, Wis.), the Ponoka (Alberta) Stampede, the Beef Empire Days PRCA Rodeo (Garden City, Kan.), the Livermore (Calif.) Rodeo, the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round and average titles at the Clovis (Calif.) Rodeo; was co-champion at the Cowboy Capital of the World Pro Rodeo (Stephenville, Texas) and at the YMBL Championship Rodeo (Beaumont, Texas).

2004 – Finished as the world champion runner-up with $179,906; Won Tour and average titles at La Fiesta de los Vaqueros (Tucson, Ariz.) and set new arena record with an 89-point ride on Beutler & Son’s Commotion; won Tour round title at RodeoHouston; won Clovis (Calif.) Rodeo, Mineral Wells (Texas) PRCA Rodeo, Will Rogers Stampede (Claremore, Okla.), Farm-City Pro Rodeo (Hermiston, Ore.); finished second at the Pace Chute-out (Las Vegas); co-champion at Sheridan (Wyo.) Rodeo; won the Pace Picante ProRodeo Classic (Dallas) with an 89-point ride aboard Stace Smith Pro Rodeo’s RD Mercer; placed in four out of 10 rounds at the Wrangler NFR, winning Round 4 with a 90.5-point ride aboard Andrews Rodeo’s Roly Poly. Finished ninth in Wrangler NFR average, picking up $36,785; won the average title at the Texas Circuit Finals and qualified for his first DNCFR.

2003 – World champion and set a record for most money won in a year in the bareback riding with $188,247 (which was broken in 2004 by Kelly Timberman). The previous record was held by Lan LaJeunesse set in 2001 with $185,556. Became the first contestant to win all three Pace Series events (Pace Picante ProRodeo Chute-out in Las Vegas; Pace Picante ProRodeo Challenge in Omaha; and Pace Classic in Dallas); won Pace Picante ProRodeo Challenge (Omaha, Neb.) and tied the world record with a 94-point ride on Kesler Rodeo’s Sky Reach; won RodeoHouston, Calgary (Alberta) Stampede, Puyallup (Wash.) Rodeo and Heart O’ Texas Fair & Rodeo (Waco).

2002 – Finished third in the world; won the Lawton (Okla.) Rangers Rodeo, Caldwell (Idaho) Night Rodeo, Ellensburg (Wash.) Rodeo and Tri-State Rodeo (Fort Madison, Iowa); summer Wrangler ProRodeo Tour points leader in bareback riding.
